Soviet Naval Brigade ‘Tank Hunters’ Anti-Tank Team

Soviet Naval Brigade ‘Tank Hunters’ Anti-Tank Team

Kill that tank!

Soviet infantry were often confronted head-on with enemy armour, particularly in the brutal meat-grinder of Stalingrad. Without supporting heavy weaponry, they were forced to improvise and adapt new tactics for destroying enemy vehicles at close range - a task requiring extreme dedication, something for which the Naval Brigades were renowned. Perhaps the simplest anti-tank weapon of the war was the ‘Molotov Cocktail’, a home-made incendiary grenade, while the German Panzerfaust, captured in huge numbers, became the favoured late-war weapon of Soviet tank hunters. On the Bolt Action tabletop, Tank Hunters give you a small unit of Infiltrators with a lethal anti-tank punch, making them a perfect addition to any Rifle Platoon expecting to face enemy armour.

Miniature sculpted by Dimitris Kampourides. Studio miniatures painted by Andres Amian.
